OutSystems Extends the life of O11 Indefinitely

Today, OutSystems announced a new roadmap for its flagship products. Partners like CoolProfs were informed just one day in advance. There is more to the announcement, but we will focus on one important message: the life of the OutSystems 11 platform will continue indefinitely.

Previously, it was communicated that O11 would be supported at least through 2029. This suggested that the platform would eventually reach end-of-life and that all customers would need to migrate to ODC (OutSystems Developer Cloud). That obligation has now been lifted.

This is great news for organizations still undecided about migrating to ODC. Perhaps they need more time, or they don’t yet see a compelling business case. They can now confidently continue investing in O11. And at the same time, develop new applications in ODC.

For organizations already transitioning to ODC, nothing changes: they are making a forward-looking choice. ODC is the cloud platform where innovations like AI Agents and Mentor are being introduced. Developing new, cutting-edge applications in ODC remains a smart move. At the same time, the extended support for O11 allows them to maintain existing enterprise systems on that platform—without concerns about future support being discontinued.

What does this mean for our products and approach?

The CoolProfs Road to ODC approach will remain in place. For all products, this means a longer lifespan:

  • Cool Model: Remains immediately deployable for O11 landscapes and helps customers with architecture analysis and future planning.
  • Cool Monitor: Supports both O11 and ODC applications, and therefore remains broadly applicable.
  • Cool Data Mover: Continues to be valuable for data migrations between OutSystems environments.
  • Our SDLC suite will remain fully usable as long as customers continue to use O11.
